Karrie Hitchcock serves the law school as the Career Advisor, where she is responsible for student career counseling, coordinating and maintaining our career service management software (Symplicity), maintaining our career services resources and cultivating relationships and employment opportunities for our students. Ms. Hitchcock joined the law school as the full-time Career Advisor after working as the part-time Career Advisor for several months. Before working for the law school, Ms. Hitchcock worked as an Intellectual Property Paralegal for over twenty years in a variety of legal settings from solo practitioners, small and large law firms and Fortune 500 companies in Silicon Valley, California and Boise, Idaho. In her various paralegal roles, Ms. Hitchcock educated and trained colleagues, clients and vendors on best practices for protection of intellectual property, presented at International Trademark Association (INTA) "Washington Meets West" seminar, supervised and trained paralegals and administrative staff, conducted intellectual property audits, clearance, due diligence, enforcement and prosecution for a variety of clients.
In addition to her professional experience, Ms. Hitchcock volunteers for Family Advocates as a Home Visitor for new mothers and with the West Ada School District.
Ms. Hitchcock and her husband enjoy the many outdoor activities that Idaho has to offer with their three children.
