Concordia Law Achieves 100% Ultimate Bar Passage Rate – Two Years in a Row

The results are in, and Concordia University School of Law has achieved a 100% ultimate bar passage rate for the second year in a row according to data recently released by the American Bar Association (ABA). This means that 100% of Concordia’s 2017 and 2016 graduates who sat for the bar have passed the bar within two years after graduation. Concordia is one of only three law schools in the nation to achieve a 100% two-year pass rate for the second year in a row, alongside Yale Law School and the University of Wisconsin School of Law. Even more impressive?  All but one of Concordia Law’s graduates in 2016 and all graduates in 2017 took the Bar exam and are included in the 100% ultimate bar pass rate!

The ABA released its comprehensive data on the Class of 2017’s ultimate aggregate pass rate on February 18, 2020. Nationally, the two-year pass rate for all qualifying test-takers came in at 89.4% percent.

"The impressive nature of our graduates and the value of a Concordia Law education is clearly evident in the ultimate bar passage results for our 2017 and 2016 graduates," said Interim Dean Latonia Haney Keith.  "Coupled with our commitment to an affordable education, Concordia Law is at the forefront of diversifying the practice of law.  I am extremely proud of these graduates and their families, along with the faculty, staff, and community members who have supported them.  These graduates join the cadre of civic-minded attorneys, capable and willing to serve the wide range of legal needs within our community."

What sets Concordia Law apart?

Impressive rankings aren’t the only thing that make Concordia University School of Law distinctive. Our student-to-faculty ratio is among the lowest in the region — meaning students benefit from each other through interactive classes, and from professors who care about their success. Our average annual tuition is just $19,000 — comparable to state schools — putting a private, nonprofit legal education within reach. Merit scholarships and service grants are guaranteed, regardless of class standing or GPA, fostering a challenging yet collaborative student experience. And with a campus in the heart of downtown Boise, Idaho’s state capital and legal hub, students benefit from hands-on, experiential service learning opportunities embedded in the Boise legal community.

Recently, Concordia University School of Law announced that it will undergo a transfer in ownership, subject to ABA and Higher Learning Commission acquiescence, to Concordia Univeresity, St. Paul, a financially stable peer institution who is firmly committed to Concordia Law's current and prospective students, the Boise & Idaho communities, and the program of legal education at Concordia Law.  Together, Concordia Law and Concordia St. Paul look forward to shaping the future of legal education in Idaho and beyond.
