Access to Records
Students may review their student file by submitting a written request to the office of student services and scheduling a time to review the file in the presence of a student services staff member. Copies of documents contained in the file may be obtained by submitting a student file document request form to the office of student services.
Confidentiality of Official Student File
In accordance with the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act of 1974, as amended by P.L. 93-380, Concordia University grants all the rights under the law to all matriculating students. No one outside the institution shall have access to, nor will the institution disclose any information from, any student’s education records without the written consent of students, except to personnel within the institution, to accrediting agencies carrying out their accreditation function, to persons in compliance with a judicial order, and to persons in an emergency in order to protect the health and safety of students or other persons. All of these exceptions are permitted under the Act.
At its discretion, Concordia University School of Law may provide Directory Information in accordance with the provisions of FERPA to include: student name, e-mail address, home address, telephone number, dates of attendance, enrollment status and class year, field(s) of study, degrees and awards received, photographs, Concordia ID number, and recognized student organizations.
Students may withhold Directory Information by submitting the required form to the Student Records Coordinator. Please note that such requests are binding for all information to all parties other than educational purposes. Students should carefully consider all aspects of a Directory Hold prior to filing such a request. Restrictions will remain in effect until the student requests cancellation in writing by submitting a new form to the Student Records Coordinator.
